Bunk beds, treehouses, and maps
Wednesday, 28 August 2013
Don't you just love how when kids like something, they REALLY like it. There is no half-heartedness there, and I love how this comes across in their rooms. If they have a map, it will be a VERY big map,
Every possession is treasured and if they love books, it won't just be any bookshelf it'll be one with little tree animals on it (below Anzu fairytales card).
Their hobbies are immediately obvious the minute you enter the room.
And there is always a sense of adventure about them.
I think Wes Anderson perfectly captures this in his films particularly the Royal Tenenbaums. And in his films, it's not just the kid's rooms that go overboard on the hobbies!
Peckish
Thursday, 22 August 2013
Every day around 4 o'clock we get very peckish in the Anzu studio and have to have a tea break.
Sometimes we even have visitors.
It even crops up on our cards.
Would love to have this Regency caddy for such occasions.
Or these Louis Vuitton trunks, especially created for afternoon tea.
House of Hackney, Shoreditch
Friday, 9 August 2013
The new House of Hackney shop that has opened on Shoreditch High street is truly sumptuous. This wallpaper looks beautiful in the bathroom with the gold fittings. I'm also all for bringing back gold fittings in bathrooms.
Busy, busy...
Saturday, 27 July 2013
Sorry, it's been rather quiet on the blog recently. We have been very busy at Anzu, and I have been very busy painting the new season's collections. Starting above,
and finished on the first bit!
Piles of palettes, and copious cups of tea.. See more Anzu studio life over at Instagram, user name anzugifts
Place like home
Monday, 8 July 2013
Nothing makes a place feel more like home than lots and lots of pictures and paintings. Above Bridget Bardot and Picasso in his home.
The Spades love collecting art and they always display it so well. Above and below the Spade house in Southampton.
Also love it when pictures are hung on very strong wallpaper. You don't need 'serious' art for this, as pretty much most things will look good!
Love this grouping of tropical plant paintings that Lee Radziwill had in her home.
Also love this combination of personal photographs and postcards combined with a shell collection as in India Hicks' famous Caribbean home.
Piles and piles of books..
Tuesday, 2 July 2013
It doesn't matter how big my bookcases are, I always end up with piles of books on the floor, so I love these interiors where they've used them decoratively.
The Anzu studio. Cats, books and plants make a home..
I need one (or several) of these clever almost invisible book organisers
Clearly seeped into my work... The Anzu books card.
Love this lamp
