Amazing to think that a spy used to dress like this! Mata Hari above, and Greta Garbo playing her.






Interesting to see how much Hollywood and the west has been inspired by Oriental headdresses. Above, the original thing in silver as worn by a Miao girl in South-west China.





I love these Kingfisher ones with pearl and jade and vivid blue Kingfisher feathers forming leaping dragons, drifting clouds and majestic phoenixes.




Stephen Treacy for Alexander McQueen. Silver flowers forms an impressive armoured headdress and a wooden Chinese idyll with temple gates and cypress trees rises from her hair.
