Mother's Day ideas, time for tea

If you're taking your Mum for tea on Mother's day, you could also buy her a gift on the tea theme as a memento of the day. The Anzu black tea candle is a bestseller of ours,

vintage teacups are a lovely gift (ebay always has a great choice and they're reasonable too - I like to search for paragon china),

the hummingbird bakery book has a Mother's day section so you could buy it, cook her a cake from it then give it as a present afterwards - a double gift!

Malmaison

One of my favourite places to visit in Paris is Malmaison. The home of Josephine (above) and Napoleon Bonaparte it is a place that manages to empress whilst still having a very relaxed feel. A perfect example of Empire style, with stunning details and beautiful colour combinations.

Josephine had tremendous style and was a trensetter in her day. Above is the Anzu Josephine's necklace card which is based on a sapphire necklace that Josephine owned.

With carved swan heads and figurines, Egyptian inspirations,

intricate embroidery, and stunning rose gardens it is an inspiring place to visit. However, all did not end well. Josephine and Napoleon divorced and Napoleon re-married. However, Josephine being Josephine did not leave it there and ensured that her signature fragrance of violets was sprayed onto all the wallpaper throughout the house. Who could forget Josephine?

The Mary Katrantzou for Topshop pieces were so stunning. We love them. Of course they sold out immediately, but Saffiah managed to get a piece - the rest of us in the office are so jealous!!

Bonsai treehouse

I think this Bonsai treehouse by Takanori Alba is so imaginative and original.

They say that people who work in an office with a plant always feel much happier, and how beautiful are these Bonsai trees? And it would be lovely to sit at your desk and watch the seasons pass.. Takanori Aiba's bonsai might make you daydream a little too much though!

Anzu in Quartier 206 magazine

We are having to work in the office today even though the sun is shining, but a lovely surprise arrived in the post this morning - the Quartier 206 magazine. It really is a stunning magazine. Thank you to everyone there for the feature and the full page.

We love the clean way it is laid out, the colours and all the clothes in it too!

Possibly a slightly moody photo to start Monday morning off with, but I just think this photograph by John Slope of Chile is amazing. So atmospheric, a bit like a South American version of Rebecca. You could imagine there is a real story around this.

Happy Valentines Day!

Meadow

Meadows are a favourite theme for Anzu, so it was lovely to watch the pretty bbc programme Bees, butterflies and blooms yesterday. There is just something so magical about meadows. It was also nice in this cold, grey weather to see such flowery sunny scenes. If you like meadow style too, you could

paint a meadow mural (lovely for a children's room or guest bedroom). Although this does work especially well if you happen to have an alpine chateau!
